A native of Cleveland Ohio, Sam Petrey’s recent performances include collaborations with Yo-Yo Ma, members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, members of the Cleveland Orchestra, the Silk Road Ensemble and Eighth Blackbird. He has performed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Philharmonic, Madison Symphony, Oakland Symphony and has been Concertmaster of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and Charlottesville Opera. He recently toured extensively across North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand while performing over 250 chamber music concerts. Sam holds a Masters of Music from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music where he studied with Axel Strauss and a Performance Certificate from DePaul University where he studied with Ilya Kaler. When he’s not fiddling away Sam enjoys cooking, running and brewing beer.
