Nick Giralico, horn, is currently a master’s student at The Cleveland Institute of Music studying with
Richard King of The Cleveland Orchestra. Previously, he obtained his Bachelor of Music degree in horn
performance from the Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music where he studied with Jesse McCormick
and David Brockett of The Cleveland Orchestra. A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he has been
studying horn since he was 10 years old.
Nick is an active freelancer in the Northeast Ohio area where he currently serves as the Assistant Principal Horn of the Mansfield Symphony and is also the Principal Horn of the Cleveland Opera Theater. He also frequently plays with the Akron Symphony, Firelands Symphony, and Wooster Symphony Orchestra. He is currently finishing his first full year with CityMusic Cleveland where he has had the fortunate opportunity to play Principal horn on multiple concerts. Nick is also an active teacher in the area where he currently has his own studio of young students.
In 2018 and 2019, Nick was a student of the Aspen Music Festival and School where he studied with Erik Ralske, Kevin Rivard, Stefan De Leval Jezierski, and Jennifer Montone. He has also had the privilege to participate in masterclasses with Stefan Dohr, David Cooper, Carsten Duffin, Gail Williams, and William Caballero. Nick was also awarded the Gerke Collegiate Artist award through the Mu Phi Epsilon Foundation and was a finalist in the Tuesday Musical Association Scholarship Competition.
When not playing horn, Nick enjoys spending time with his family and friends and rock climbing at the local gym.
