Luisa Varón, Colombian violist. Student from Tolima Conservatory and graduated from Los Andes University in Colombia with a major in performance. Winner of the Violas Night auditions of the Bogota Viola Festival. Member of the Colombian Youth Philharmonic playing for the famous classical music radio show ”From the Top” in 2013 and premiering in the New World Center in Miami as the first Latin American Orchestra in the Hall .Founder member of Bogota Youth Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra. Appearances throughout South America: as guest violist at the National Symphonic Orchestra (Colombia) and Loja Symphonic Orchestra (Ecuador ) and in Music Festivals including Colombia, Brazil, and Chile. Has participated in the COSA (Chamber Orchestra of San Antonio) Music Institute as part of its Young Artist String Chamber Orchestra. Luisa will be playing with the San Antonio Chamber Orchestra in Texas and Post Classical Ensemble in Washington for their spring concerts in 2017. Luisa has participated in some Social programs teaching music to children in Colombia and USA. Founding member of the Tierradentro String Quartet, currently attending Kent State University (Ohio,USA) as student of Cathy Meng Robinson and Keith Robinson ( from the Miami String Quartet) and Yu Jin of its Chamber Music Master Degree program.
