James Larson

James LarsonCurrently residing in Colorado, Violinist/Violist James Larson enjoys a varied career as a performer and teacher. Festival highlights include Taos, Yellowbarn, Chamberfest Cleveland, and the Heifetz Institute. James has performed and toured extensively with the Cleveland Orchestra. Additional engagements include Guest Principal of the San Diego Symphony and appearances with the Atlanta, Nashville, and San Antonio Symphonies. James has collaborated with such diverse artists as Jonathan Biss, Noah Bendix-Bagley, Bill Preucil, Dimitri Murrath, Mark Kosower, Frank Cohen, Amit Peled, and Trey Anastasio. He has given recitals in New York, Boston, Cleveland, Miami and Washington D.C., to much acclaim. Other interests include thru hiking, mountaineering, alpine skiing, philosophy of emergent systems, and biosemiotics. James studied at Vanderbilt University and is a graduate of Phillips Academy Andover and The Cleveland Institute of Music.
