Benjamin Hottensmith is currently a DMA candidate and Graduate Associate to the Horn Studio at The Ohio State University under the tutelage of Professor Bruce Henniss. Prior to Ohio State, Ben attended Kent State University and the University of Akron where he studied with Kent Larmee and Margaret Tung, respectively. Ben has performed with groups throughout Northeast and Central Ohio including CityMusic Cleveland, the New Albany Symphony, the Newark- Granville Symphony, and the Ohio Light Opera. Ben has also performed as a soloist with the Brunswick High School Wind Ensemble at the 2017 OMEA Convention and with the University of Akron Symphonic Band as a winner of the 2016 UA Concerto Competition. Outside of music Ben enjoys coffee, cooking, and his cat.
