Yvonne Frindle was born in Sydney, Australia, and educated at an agricultural high school where she cultivated her musical interests. She completed a Bachelor of Music degree with first class honours at Sydney University, and holds postgraduate diplomas in Education and Communication.
She has worked in orchestra administration since 1995, when she was awarded the inaugural ABC/Youth Music Australia Music Presentation Fellowship. She subsequently joined Symphony Australia, working in Publications and then as Assistant Artistic Administrator. From 1999 to 2001 she was Artistic Administrator of the West Australian Symphony Orchestra, and from 2002 to 2005 Artistic Administrator of Apollo's Fire. She is currently the Publications Editor and Music Presentation Manager for the Sydney Symphony.
Yvonne Frindle is an active freelance writer and speaker about music. She has been presenting pre-concert lectures since 1997, appearing for the Sydney and Melbourne Symphony Orchestras and Musica Viva Australia, as well as for the WASO, Apollo's Fire and the Cleveland Orchestra.
Her annotations have appeared in the programs of all the major Australian orchestras, Musica Viva Australia, the Adelaide and Melbourne Festivals, and Apollo's Fire, as well the Australian tours of the Vienna and Israel Philharmonic Orchestras and Paris Opera Ballet. She has also written CD liner notes for ABC Classics and KOCH International Classics.
