Lauren Borden

Laurel Borden recently moved to Cleveland from South Florida where she has been member of both the Florida Grand Opera Orchestra and the Palm Beach Symphony for the past 4 years. As an in-demand musician in South Florida, she additionally plays with the Naples Philharmonic, the Southwest Florida Symphony, Boca Symphonia, and is an active chamber musician. Additionally, Laurel has been recently featured on the soundtrack to VH1’s mini-series on the history of hip-hop, The Tanning of America, and as a member of the string orchestra can be heard on Gloria Estefan’s recent album, The Standards. Laurel has performed throughout the United States, Canada, the Dominican Republic, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain and Turkey. She has performed with the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra, the Sun Valley Summer Symphony, the Artosphere Festival Orchestra and the Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestra. Originally hailing from a family of orchestral musicians in Nashville, TN, Laurel went on to study at the University of Michigan and Manhattan School of Music. Her most influential teachers include Yizhak Schotten, Karen Dreyfus and Kathryn Plummer. Additionally, she has coached with respected chamber musicians such as William Preucil, Michael Tree, Dan Avshalomov, Larry Dutton, and Martin Katz.
