Arleigh Savage

Bassoonist, Arleigh Savage attended Michigan State University in her hometown of East Lansing, receiving a Bachelor degree of music in 2010. Savage continued her studies at The Cleveland Institute of Music where she earned her Master’s degree and was the recipient of the George F. Goslee prize in bassoon. After graduation, Savage attended the Colorado College Summer Music Festival. Here, she was a winner of the concerto competition and performed the first movement of the Mozart Bassoon Concerto with the festival orchestra. She has played as a contracted member of the Ohio Light Opera and the Lancaster Summer Music Festival. Savage currently resides in Lakewood, OH and performs locally with The Cleveland Opera Theater, and as a substitute player with the Canton and Youngstown Symphonies, The Cleveland Pops Orchestra, CityMusic Cleveland Chamber orchestra, and the Erie Philharmonic. In 2013 she co-founded a woodwind quintet, The North Coast Winds, where she serves as the outreach director and administrative coordinator. In 2015, the North Coast Winds were nationally recognized as 1st runner up in the Yellow Springs Chamber Music Competition, and established the North Coast Winds Chamber Music Camp, a day-camp that introduces middle and high school woodwind players to performing small-ensemble repertoire without a conductor.
