Violist Charles Krenner is from Cottage Grove, Minnesota. Charles began his viola studies with Thomas Turner. He received his Bachelor's degree in viola performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music, studying with Mark Jackobs, and continued on to the Professional Studies program studying with Jeffrey Irvine. Charles has been appointed substitute musician for the Minnesota Orchestra, the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, the Pittsburgh Symphony, the Toledo Symphony as well as other orchestras throughout Northeast Ohio. He has been a violist with CityMusic Cleveland since the beginning of their second season in 2005. Charles is a self-taught composer having written works for varied chamber ensembles, electronic music, as well as music for radio shows.
