Violinist Zsolt Eder is a student of Paul Kantor at the Cleveland Institute of Music and
first violinist of the Matisse String Quartet. Before moving to Cleveland, Zsolt studied in
Toronto, Canada, with the late Lorand Fenyves and also in the young artist's program of the
Franz Liszt Academy (Budapest). In Ohio, he plays regularly in the Canton and Akron Symphonies
and has performed with Red {an orchestra} and Opera Cleveland. He has performed as concertmaster
and assistant concertmaster of the CIM Orchestra, in addition to appearing as soloist with the
group in February 2008. Zsolt has also appeared as soloist with the Teatro di Musica Orchestra
and the Parlando Chamber Orchestra, both in Budapest. This past summer, Zsolt and the Matisse
Quartet had an opportunity to perform in New York City as part of the Juilliard String Quartet
Seminar and also participated in the Beethoven Institute (NYC) and in the Banff Chamber Music
Residency. The quartet is currently a participant in CIM's Intensive Quartet Seminar.
